Ray Mears visits CD08
Survival expert Ray Mears visited CD08 on Friday and gave a Bushcraft Masterclass to 30 lucky Scouts and Guides, where he started and open fire, filleted and cooked a whole salmon and talked about his experiences.
Chloe, an Explorer Scout from East Wickham, awarded Mears with the Outdoor Adventure Badge whilst he was here. Ray took a tour of the site and visited all of our Sub-Camps, taking time to talk to the young people and find out about the event. See the photos on the gallery.

Ben Saunders a pioneering polar explorer who in October will be returning to the South Pole in the longest unsupported journey in polar history, took time out of his busy training schedule to visit CD08.

Ben took a 2 hour tour of the site meeting Scouts and Guides from all over the world. In the evening Ben gave an inspirational presentation on his experiences giving young people a chance to get up close to the equipment Ben has used on his recent expedition. You can find our more about Ben and follow his next expedition online at www.bensaunders.com
